Kapshagay HPP named after Sh.Chokin: strictly on schedule

A repair company has started at the hydroelectric power station

The beginning of the year for employees of power generating stations is the beginning of a new repair campaign.

– From the first days of January at Kapshagay HPP named after Sh.Chokin began the process of preparing repair personnel for repairs of the main equipment. Since January 30, hydroelectric unit No.1 has been stopped for 26 days for routine repairs of the main nodes. This year, repairs are carried out according to the standard nomenclature without recess of the rotor. The auxiliary equipment and the power transformer will also be repaired, said Maxim Mamyrin, chief engineer of the station.

All work is carried out in accordance with the approved schedule of repairs of the main equipment of JSC "AlES".

The hydroelectric power plant will undergo major repairs of hydroelectric unit No.3 with an installed capacity of 91 MW. During it, it is planned to disassemble the main components of the hydraulic unit with the replacement of all damaged parts and sealing elements, restoration of the technical parameters of the systems.

Specialists of the hydroelectric power station with an inter-repair break of no more than two days will carry out routine repairs of the second and fourth hydraulic units, three power transformers and transformers of their own needs. These repairs will also be carried out on their own.

In addition, in 2023, the repair of general station equipment, ongoing repairs of buildings and structures of the hydroelectric complex will be carried out.

Reference: hydraulic turbine PL2-50-642- B-650 station No.1, commissioned in 1970. During the operation of the hydraulic unit, planned ongoing and major repairs were carried out in volumes and on time in accordance with the current regulatory and technical documents.

In 2020, a major overhaul of the hydraulic unit was carried out, with disassembly, instrumental surveys and determination of the residual resource. The service life was extended until 2028.
