Joint-Stock Company " Almaty Electric Stations "(JSC "AlES") is an energy-producing organization engaged in the production of heat and electricity in the city of Almaty and the Almaty region. JSC "AlES" provides electricity and heat to the population, industrial and agricultural enterprises, is a subject of a natural monopoly for the production of thermal energy. JSC "AlES" was created on the basis of the decision of JSC "KazTransGas" No. 92 dated 23.05.2006 and was registered on 01.06.2006. The state registration number of the legal entity is 78188-1910-JSC. Currently, the company is part of the group of companies of JSC "Samruk-Energo". The organizational structure of JSC "AlES" includes 8 production units.

• CHPP-1 named after B. Orazbayev - production of electric and thermal energy;
• CHPP-2 named after A. Zhakutov - production of electric and thermal energy;
• CHPP-3 - production of electric and thermal energy;
• Kapshagayskaya HPP named after Sh.Chokina - production of electric energy;
• Cascade of hydroelectric power plants - production of electric energy;
• Western thermal Complex ( ZTK) - production of thermal energy;
• Production and repair enterprise "Energoremont "(PRE) - repair of equipment of JSC "AlES";
• Fuel reception and Unloading Center (FRUC) - reception and unloading of fuel for energy sources of JSC "AlES".
