2022 has been declared as the "Year of Occupational Safety and Health" in the Samruk-Energo JSC group of companies. This imposes a great responsibility on the employees of JSC "AlES" to comply with the requirements of labor protection and safety at the workplace. A lot of work is being done to promote safe production, various types of training of workers on safety and labor protection are organized, measures are being taken to involve personnel in labor protection issues in order to form a culture of safe work and motivate safe behavior.

Tulegen Maksilov, Director of the Department of Labor Protection and Environmental Protection of Samruk-Energo JSC, conducted training of internal trainers on the formation of a culture of safe work in February. The training took place in the format of a dialogue. 84 employees of AlES have been trained. Since March, internal trainers have been regularly training employees of all production departments to improve the safety culture.

In 2021, the company implemented 4 modules of the Safe Production project: a logbook of defects and events, a leadership behavioral safety audit, production control and training control.

– Introduction of modules allowed to increase the level of employee involvement in occupational safety and health, streamline the recording of defects and events, audits and inspections, as well as strengthen control over personnel training, – said the Head of the Industrial Safety and Labor Protection Department of the Company Karim Sartaev.

In February 2022, representatives of "e-Capital" LLP conducted additional training for key and end users in the production departments of AlES under the "Safe Production" program. 217 employees took part in the training. The lecturers demonstrated the capabilities of the "Safe Production" program and gave instructions on the correct use of the program modules. The employees made comments on the work of the modules and suggestions for expanding their capabilities for further adaptation of the program in the company.

In March 2022, leadership behavioral safety audits (hereinafter referred to as LBSA) were conducted at CHPP-2 with the participation of the first managers of AlES JSC. Participation in the LBSA shows the commitment of the company's management to prioritize issues of safe working conditions and demonstrates to the staff their involvement in the process of occupational safety management.

Company's employees actively used the acquired knowledge on March 15 during the next monthly Safety Day.

– According to the established tradition, representatives of the head office of AlES JSC took part in the Safety Day. According to the approved schedule of visits on TB Day, employees of the Department of Industrial Safety and Labor Protection, the Department of Operation, the Department of Repairs, the Department of Capital Construction and Dispatching Management as part of the commissions checked the state of safety and labor protection in the production departments of B.Orazbayev CHPP-1, CHPP-3 and Kapshagayskaya HPP named after Sh.Chokin. In total, 116 violations were detected in these production departments on the Day of Equipment, including 2 violations for contractors, – said Aisulu Irzhanova, chief specialist of the Department of Industrial Safety and Labor Protection.

The highest value in "AlES" JSC is the life and health of employees. Even the most important production tasks cannot be an excuse if there is a threat to the life or health of employees when they are performed, and properly organized work to ensure occupational safety is the main priority in the Company's activities.
