A ROUND TABLE IS HELD ON GENDER EQUALITY IN AUEC

On May 20, 2019, JSC “AlES” together with the EBRD organized a round table for 50 teachers of AUPET in accordance with the plan of measures to promote equal opportunities.

Aliya Ilyasova, a senior national expert on gender issues, presented the best international practice and career guidance in educational institutions at the Round Table and gave examples of strategies and policies to support gender equality and women's empowerment towards sustainable development in Kazakhstan. She spoke about the methods by which the main issues of women's economic empowerment are addressed.

- Achieving gender equality requires measures to compensate for existing barriers to the provision of equal opportunities to both men and women. NAO “AUEC” supports the initiative to promote equal opportunities and raise awareness about women's career growth opportunities in the energy sector. Moreover, our university is interested in enrolling a larger number of girls in the energy specialties, - noted SauleSagintayeva, the Head of University.
