ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ACCIDENTS. WE WILL START AT 3 MORE SUBSIDIARIES AND AFFILIATES

The start of the project on "Implementation of a new model for integrated security management" was announced in three subsidiaries of the holding company "Samruk-Energo" in the southern region. These are two large production assets-JSC "Almaty Electric Power Stations" (AlES), JSC "Alatau Zharyk Companiyasy" (AZHK) and the solar power plant "Samruk Green Energy" (SGE) LLP.

 

 

The launch meeting was attended by senior management, as well as line managers of subsidiaries and affiliates, who are responsible for employees in terms of labor protection, and this is more than six thousand people. The new approaches of the integrated safety project are aimed at improving the safety culture and reducing injuries by preventing incidents. The project includes the introduction of new standards, practical tools that will help employees change their attitude to compliance with safety rules, increase their level of consciousness and change outdated approaches.
The co-sponsor of the Project, Managing Director for Business Transformation, Kopenov Edil, opened the Launch meeting: "I want to emphasize the priority of occupational safety issues. This project is under special control of the Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna "Akhmetzhan Yessimov. The project sponsor in Samruk-Energo JSC is also the first head, Chairman of the Management Board Bakitzhan Zhulamanov."
Practice shows that the exclusion of the occurrence of risks of a traumatic situation allows you to prevent accidents. In the first half of 2020, 6 accidents were registered in the Samruk-Energo group of companies. While in the same period of 2019, 7 accidents occurred, 1 of them with a fatal outcome. In 2019, a transparent incident registration system was introduced, which registers and investigates potentially dangerous incidents that did not lead to injuries. Increased responsibility for concealing accidents and monetary motivation for reporting potentially dangerous situations. For the first half of 2020, 16 potentially dangerous incidents were registered and investigated. For the same period last year-23 potentially dangerous incidents.

The project manager and Director of the Department "Labor Protection and Environmental Protection" Tulegen Maksilov spoke about the important points of the Project: "It is necessary to conduct a qualitative analysis of possible risks in the workplace. The work should not contain a bureaucratic approach. To implement a system of transparent reporting and a proactive approach to industrial safety issues are important tasks in the implementation of the project."
As part of the implementation of the project, it is planned to achieve a reduction in injury rates by 30% within three years after the implementation of the project."
For reference: In 2019, the first wave of the Project was completed in KC, EGRES-1 LLP, MGES JSC, SHGES JSC. The second wave of the project is at the stage of completion in "PVES" LLP, "SAGRES-2" JSC, "AlES" until the end of 2020. The third wave of the Project was launched at JSC "AlES", JSC "AZhK" and the solar power plant of "SGE" LLP.
