Public hearings on the EIA (environmental impact assessment) for the project “Expansion of CHP-1 “AlES” JSC

Public hearings on the EIA (environmental impact assessment) for the project “Expansion of CHP-1 “AlES” JSC" with the installation of new energy-based gas turbine technologies” was held in “AlES” JSC at September 9, 2014.

 The public hearing was attended by representatives of the state and authorized bodies, consumers, NGOs, the media, representatives of the residents of the surrounding area and others.

The chief engineer of “StroyIndustriya” LLP A.P. Kaloshin presented the report: the section of EIA for the project “Expansion of CHP-1 of “AlES” JSC with the installation of a new energy source based on gas turbine technology”, which introduced the main objectives of the project, with the conditions of the present stage of development of Almaty CHP-1 of “AlES” JSC, presented courses of prospective development of the station, etc.

Ecologist of “StroyIndustriya” LLP – M.A. Shcherbakova, in her speech reviewed the main indicators of emissions of pollutants from smokestacks into the air and the forecast of reduction in total emissions after the transfer the station to the burning of natural gas, revealed a significant reduction in the impact on soil due to exclusion of emissions of sulfur components, coal ash and coal dust, showed the social significance of the project.
The discussion was constructive. These received proposals and recommendations would be taken into account in the further activity of “AlES” JSC.
