AlES JSC Youth Forum: the path to leadership and transformation

On November 22, 2023 the IV forum of JSC "AlES" Zharkyn Bolashak" youth organization" on the theme "Leadership in the corporate world" was held. The forum was attended by 96 active young professionals.

The guys gathered to get to know each other better, get competent answers to their questions, and undergo transformational training. The event was attended by the management of AlES JSC, representatives of youth organizations of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, AZhK JSC, AlmatyEnergoSbyt LLP. Gaziy Ismukhambetov, Deputy Chairman of the Board – Chief Engineer of AlES JSC, addressed the guys with a welcoming speech.

– To date, the number of young men and women under the age of 35 working at AlES is more than 920. This is a huge force, which combines youth and aspiration for perfection, loyalty to our company and the desire to invest all their efforts in improving the efficiency of its activities, – said Gaziy Ismukhambetov.

Fariza Botakaraeva, a leading software engineer at Energoremont, was at the very origins of the youth organization. Under her leadership for 10 years MO "Zharkyn Bolashak" has done a lot of things: this is the work on patronage of city orphanage, and regular environmental actions, and holding various thematic trainings, and participation in corporate events, and much more. Fariza was able to unite guys from different departments, to enthuse them to work together. At the forum the guys underwent transformational training presented by Aidar Busurmanov.

– We have been thinking for a long time about what kind of training to hold at the Forum. So we decided to do a transformational one. I took this training at the youth forum of Samruk-Kazyna JSC in Turkestan, I resisted transformation, but at one point I realized: we create the image of ourselves. Realizing this, I offered this training for us and was veryworried about how it would go. But now I'm sure the right choice was made. I think everyone in life should change themselves for the better: towards themselves, towards their work. As they say, the teacher comes when the student is ready. And the result of the training depended on everyone personally, – said Aset Amirbekov, Head of Repair Service of CHPP-1 named after B.Orazbayev, Chairman of MO "Zharkyn Bolashak".

The Forum left a lasting impression on the participants, stimulating them to positive change and mutual support. Yerbol Yelemesov, Leading Labor Safety Engineer of "QazaqGaz" NC and Chairman of the Youth Council of Samruk Kazyna JSC, expressed his gratitude for the experience and energy gained at the forum.

– The event was held at the highest level. I believe that the youth showed themselves only from the best side, the presence of the right energy in them energized not only themselves, but also those around them, including me. As one of the forum participants said: "It does not matter how many days are in your life, it is important how much life is in your days", so the day of November 22, 2023 is lived as effectively as possible! – Yerbol Yelemesov shared his impressions.

Evgeny Krasnoshchekov, an engineer for the organization of equipment operation at the EMC of the HPP Cascade, was impressed by the Forum: "We were charged with positivity. We're all on the same team. Everyone has figured out their problems, their mistakes. The forum has taught us how to support each other. I thank everyone for not looking for a reason not to come, but for finding the opportunity to be there for their comrades!"

– The forum was 100 times better than I expected. The main reason is training. It had a big impact on me. I noticed my hidden qualities in myself. It was a deeply emotional evening. I got a great incentive to change my life," said Bekzat Kalelov, electrician of RZ&A of the electrical shop of CHPP-1im. B.Orazbayeva.

Akerke Orazova, an electrician for repair and maintenance of automatics and measuring instruments of power plants of B.Orazbayev ETL CHPP-1, thought before the Forum that she wanted to be just an electrician. It was her comfort zone.

– Now I want a career path, I want to participate in all events, I'm not afraid to perform. Last year I participated in a similar training in Turkestan. But I held myself back. I was afraid to come out, to say anything. But today I'm reaching out to everyone, "Don't hold back! Speak up!" You are me! I am you!" she addressed the Forum participants.

Dauren Rakhimov, an electrician of RP&A of the electric shop of A.Zhakutov CHPP-2, has been working at AlES JSC for half a year. Prior to that, he worked at AZhK:

– I like it a lot at AlES. With my mentors by my side, I am growing professionally. Gaining a lot of new skills and work experience. After the Forum, I can confidently say that I have changed my outlook on life. I'm not afraid of change. And I need to change," Dauren Rakhimov shared his opinion.

– I am very happy to be a guest and participant in the Forum! The day was busy and very productive, the organizers thought of everything in detail. I learned a lot about the activities of "Zharkyn Bolashak", a lot of work has been done and how much labor has been invested! Really enjoyed the hands-on training that pumped up our skills. I saw in myself my weaknesses, which I did not want to admit, now I will work on them, – said Kamila Malgizhdarova, calculation engineer of "AlmatyEnergoSbyt" LLP.

According to Ramazan Moldakadyr, a WTC repair preparation engineer, it was the first time he participated in the Forum: "I always said I wouldn't go, and this time I didn't want to go. But I was invited to represent the WTC. After the training, I realized that I need to talk about my thoughts, what's inside me. I've never spoken publicly before. I didn't even just speak at a friend's wedding. Now I will express my opinion, take part in the activities of the youth organization".

Aset Gubashev, electrician of RP&A of Kapshagay HPP named after Sh. Chokin liked the "Praise Yourself" assignment. His bottom line was this: "I was lucky to be born me. I don't envy anyone and wouldn't want to be anyone else but myself. It's a nice feeling any way you look at it."

– When I was a student at AUPEC, I did an industrial internship with elements of dual training at CHPP-1 in 2021. I now work at this station and am proud of it. I can't say right now that I've changed 180 degrees, but there is a transformation. I know my vulnerabilities, I have shyness. I know I have set my own boundaries and will now work on those points. I want to say thank you to all of you, many of you I recognized only today for real, – emphasized Alisher Teltai, boiler equipment operator at CHPP-1 named after B.Orazbayev.

The participants expressed their gratitude for the Forum and training to the company's management and all those involved in its preparation.

AlES JSC is on the threshold of big events, modernization of CHPP-2 and CHPP-3, on the line – expansion of CHPP-1, modernization of HPP Cascade and Kapshagay HPP with construction of counter-regulator on the Ile River. The plans are ambitious and it is the youth who will realize them and work at the new stations!
