AlES: The heating season has been successfully completed

JSC "Almaty Electric Stations" are the main energy source of Almaty and the Almaty region. This is a holding company in a holding company that includes three thermal power plants, two hydroelectric power plants, the Western Thermal Complex, Energoremont and CPVT. The company provides electric and thermal energy to about 70% of consumers in the Almaty region.

Despite the rather difficult and cold last heating season, thermal energy was released in full in accordance with the requests of consumers. About 20 boiler units and 13 steam turbines were in operation.

– In general, the heating season was successful, as evidenced by the uninterrupted supply of heat and electricity to consumers in Almaty and the Almaty region, – said Yerlan Kirkinbayev, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC AlES. – During this period, 2.9 billion kWh of electric energy and about 4.7 million Gcal of thermal energy were generated.

Employees of the company in December 2022, after the events in Ekibastuz and Pavlodar, participated in a technical survey of power plants of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

– As part of the commission for the inspection of energy sources of the Karaganda region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, we checked the readiness to carry loads during the heating period of 2022-2023 at the Karaganda CHP-1, CHP-3, Karaganda GRES-1, Karaganda CHP-2 Temirtau Balkhash CHP Balkhash, – said Ivan Simonov, Chief specialist of the Operation Service.

Abzal Zhakypbayev, Deputy Chief Engineer of A.Zhakutov CHPP-2 was sent to Stepnogorsk, Daniyar Mamayev, Deputy Chief Engineer of CHPP-3 – to Zhezkazgan, Askhar Shanlakbayev – to Ust-Kamenogorsk to participate in the work of the state commission.

The heating season 2022-2023 ended on April 20, 2023 in accordance with resolutions No.2/250 of the Akimat of Almaty and No.29-o n/k of 06.04.2023 and the akimat of the Ili district of Almaty region, the duration of the season was 189 days. The heat supply stops due to the onset of stable warm weather.

AlES JSC has started a repair campaign on the main and auxiliary equipment of energy sources since March.

Reference: the annual heating season starts when the average daily outdoor temperature is below +8 degrees Celsius for five consecutive days, if the heat supply is carried out through a centralized system. The heating period ends when the average daily outdoor temperature stays above this mark for five days. The term of the heating season is approved by the Akimat of Almaty and the akimat of the Ili district of the Almaty region.
