KEY ENVIRONMENTAL MEASURES FOR 2021

The following main environmental protection measures are planned for 2020, including:

Ø For the protection of atmospheric air:

It is planned to carry out works to maintain the degree of cleaning of ash-collecting devices at the boiler units of the stations, repair and replacement of air heater cubes, repair of boiler unit burners, emulsifiers, measures for anti-corrosion work, replacement of metal structures, pipes, worn heating surfaces, measures to increase efficiency, to eliminate violations in the technological cycle at boiler units, to dedust fuel supply paths, maintenance and adjustment work at boiler units, aspiration units of CHP-1, 2, 3. It is planned to conduct emission monitoring and impact monitoring at the border of the sanitary protection zone of all production departments and implement energy and fuel saving measures.

The planned costs are 792 million tenge.

Ø On the protection and rational use of water resources:

Measures are planned for the repair and replacement of salt pipelines, pumping equipment in the boiler, turbine, chemical workshops, treatment facilities of CHPP-1, to reduce water losses during the transportation of ash and slag waste to CHPP-2 and CHPP-3, repair of the recycling system for industrial purposes (bagernaya, cooling towers) at CHPP-2, sanitary and microbiological studies of water samples at Kapshagayskaya HPP. It is planned to implement water conservation measures.

The planned costs are 230 million tenge.

Ø On the protection of land resources, rational use of mineral resources, flora and fauna:

It is planned to replace worn-out pipelines to prevent the spillage of ash and slag waste and pulp, landscaping the territories of administrative-territorial units, increasing the area of green spaces at CHPP-1, recultivation of degraded territories at CHPP-2, CHPP-3.

The planned costs are 11 million tenge.

Ø On the management of production and consumption waste, radiation, biological and chemical safety:

Measures are planned to prevent dusting of ash dumps of CHPP-1, 2, 3, delivery of waste paper, solid household waste, mercury-containing lamps and other hazardous waste from the departments of CHPP-1, 2, 3, ZTC, Kapshagayskaya HPP, Cascade HPP, PRP "Energoremont".

The planned costs are 40 million tenge.
