Almaty Electric Power Plants JSC is an energy producing organization engaged in the production of heat and electric energy in the largest megalopolis of the Republic of Kazakhstan -
city of Almaty. The main mission of the company is to provide consumers of the city of Almaty and the Almaty region with quality services in order to consolidate the leading position in the market of thermal and electric energy.
AlES JSC is included in the Republican section of the State Register of Natural Monopoly Entities (is a natural monopoly entity for the production of thermal energy) and occupies a dominant position in electricity supply in the Almaty region and Almaty.
AlES JSC was established on the basis of the decision of KMG-Energo JSC dated on May 26, 2006 and registered on June 1, 2006.
In the near future, investments will be directed to reconstruction, modernization, technical re-equipment of existing assets to ensure uninterrupted and reliable power supply in Almaty and Almaty region.
Based on the technical condition of the main and auxiliary equipment of the energy sources of AlES JSC, in the near future, the following projects are planned: "Expansion of CHPP-1 with the installation of a new energy source based on gas turbine technologies", "Reconstruction of CHPP-3 and "Reconstruction of the heating mains of CHPP- ZTK, providing for the replacement of morally and physically obsolete existing equipment that has fulfilled the normative service life in order to improve the reliability of heat supply and reduce the impact of stations on the environmental situation in Almaty.
In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, AlES JSC is considering the issue of transferring CHP-2 to the burning of natural gas in order to minimize the impact on the environment.
In order to maintain current production in the Development Plan of AlES JSC for the period of 2019-2023. works on the reconstruction and expansion of the combined ash and slag removal system of CHPP-2 and CHPP-3 are envisaged.
The implementation of the above measures will allow:
- to realize the conditions for the social and economic development of the region;
- ensure uninterrupted supply of electrical and thermal energy.
