Public hearings were held in “AlES” JSC

Public hearings on the feasibility study “Further development of the feasibility study of reconstruction and modernization of the HP Chain of “AlES” JSC” and section of Pre-EIA (preliminary environmental impact assessment) were held in “AlES” JSC at December 10, 2013.
The public hearings was attended by representatives of “ Department of Energy and Public Utilities of Almaty” SI, “Balkhash - Alakol basin inspection onregulation of use and protection of water resources” SI, “Department of Emergency Situations of Almaty” SI, Bostandyk district offices of PDP “Nur Otan”, “Ecology agency “Ecom” LLP, management board of “AlES” JSC, media representatives and local residents.
A chief engineer of “Kazgidro” LLP I.Y. Vilkoviskyi made a report on the feasibility study “Reconstruction and modernization of HP Chain of “AlES” JSC”. He focused on the technical condition of hydroelectric equipment and the conclusions on analysis of economic feasibility of its reconstruction, presented the parameters and the type of suggested equipment and its installation options.

According to the preliminary environmental impact assessment on feasibility study, a report was made by director of “Ecology agency “Ecom” LLP I.V. Komarov, who cited the data to evaluate the impact of the project on the nature of measures for the reconstruction of HPP-1 and HPP-2.
According to the research, subject to all the necessary conditions developed in the EIA, the level of impact on the environment is recognized as a low.
During the discussion, experts of urban department of natural resources and environmental management asked questions that received satisfactory answers.
