Prefault operation of the Almaty power stations will be restored to 18.30 - AlES

ASTANA, September 24. IA News-Kazakhstan. /Yelena Bereznaya/ - the press service of “Almaty power stations” JSC informed the agency "News-Kazakhstan", that the prefault operation of the Almaty power stations will be restored to 18.30 of Monday

September 24 at 14:44 in the period of the planned works on the first bus system of 220 kW substation (SS) of Almaty, under abnormal conditions, the 2nd busbars of 220 kW substation of Almaty was disabled by protection’s activity. In this regard, huge deficit of the Almaty power unit (500 MW) has led to blackouts and a significant loss in power generation in the region.
At 14:57, the system operator turned on the first bus system of 220 kW SS of Almaty, applied a voltage, and gave the command to set load on power plants and to connect consumers.At 15:30, all the power stations gained the planned load, at 15:50 the main consumers were connected.

“The accident at the substation “Almaty-500” of “KEGOC” JSC caused the disconnection of power supply in Almaty and a significant loss of power generation at “Almaty Power Stations” JSC”.
“Currently, there are works on the restoration of pre-accident operation of power plants of Kapshagay HPP, CHP-2 and HP Chain are switched under the load. CHP-1 and CHP-3 will be turned on today to 18.30”, - the press service quoted the words of its chief engineer Gazi Ismuhambetov.
