Almaty Electric Power Plants JSC is a good example

In November 2011, National Business magazine conducted rating of 500 largest companies in Kazakhstan. According to its results, Samruk-Energo is the 32nd in this list and the first among electric power companies. JSC AlES, which is a part of Samruk-Energo JSC, is ranksed second in terms of sales and revenue among its subsidiaries. According to the magazine, Almaty Electric Power Plants (AlES) serves as a good example, which includes such structures as Almaty TPP-1, Almaty TPP -2, Almaty TPP -3, Kapchagay TPP, Western Thermal Complex, Almaty Cascade TPP, Energoremont, as well as the Center for Receiving and Unloading Fuel. Consolidated energy production at these plants amounted 5,441.7 million kWh, which is 2005.7 million kWh, or 58% more than in 2009. It should be noted that it is not enough for the southern regions, because the consumption in the so-called Southern zone (Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, South Kazakhstan regions) amounted 16176.4 million kWh, and production, including thermal, gas turbine and hydroelectric, shows a slight increase of 0.8% - 8,229.4 million kWh.
