– We shared our experience in promoting equal opportunities in the company. In 2018-2019, we implemented a project with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to promote equal opportunities. The consultant of the project was the London agency "Ergon". Today, the EBRD marks the experience of AlEC gender equality as the best and represents it in 34 countries around the world. And we are proud of it, said Aigul Kurganbayeva, the company's press secretary.

For more than five years, AlES has been implementing measures to promote equal opportunities. One of the important tools for promoting equal opportunities is corporate communications. In the projects AlES News, AlES in Persons, the Book of Honor, attention is focused on the company's commitment to providing equal opportunities, on the representation of the percentage of women in all posted materials.

Every year the company implements the project "School Ambassadors Program", which was first launched in 2019. Meetings and excursions at the company's production sites are organized especially for schoolchildren, and those of different ages in grades 4, 7 and 8. The program is also held in the summer in our children's camp "Edelweiss".

The strategic program "Round Tables" continues, the purpose of which is to attract women to the energy sector. Annually holds meetings with teachers and students of APCU and ASKEiET. Representatives of the company talk about production, women's opportunities in the energy sector.

AlES has always paid great attention to the work of the personnel reserve, staff training, but given the specifics of the company, difficult and harmful working conditions, the main percentage of employees are men – 80%. After the implementation of the project, the indicator "Increasing the representation of women in the personnel reserve and attracting women to the energy sector" appeared in AlES. In 2019, the share of women in the personnel reserve was 20%, in 2023 – 26%.

One of the priority directions for promoting equal opportunities is to increase the representation of women in management: in 2023, 28.6% in the Board of Directors, 12.5% in the company's Management Board.

In 2022-2023, women leaders of the AlEC participate in the four-module project "Gender Equality". The program was developed as part of the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to gradually increase the proportion of women in the management bodies of companies with state participation. The organizer of the program was Samruk Business Academy.

Since August 2022, the company's Women's Club has been operating in AlES JSC. One of its main goals is to unite the company's employees to strengthen the role of women and expand opportunities for women in the workplace.

AlEC does not stop there and continues to work to promote equal opportunities.
