Energy projects discussed in Almaty

The implementation of the most important projects in the energy sector was the subject of discussion at a meeting in Almaty, which took place during the business trip of the Chairman of the Board of "Samruk-Kazyna" Almasadam Satkaliyev to the enterprises of the Almaty energy complex.

According to the head of the Fund, energy is a key factor for the development of the country's economy and without the availability of free energy capacities, Kazakhstan will not be able to develop either industry or other important sectors of the economy.

During the meeting, the heads of the companies of the Samruk-Energo JSC group – JSC "Almaty Electric Stations" and JSC "Alatau Zharyk companiyasy" presented a wide range of projects being implemented in the region today. In addition, representatives of JSC NC "QazaqGaz" reported on the progress of construction of external gas infrastructure for Almaty CHP-2 and CHP-3.

According to the head of JSC "Samruk-Energy" Serik Tyutebayev, key infrastructure projects in the country's energy sector are being implemented in Ekibastuz and Almaty energy complexes. A number of new facilities have already been put into operation, according to others, the implementation dates are expected in the period up to 2030, among these projects:

– Restoration of power unit No.1 at Ekibastuz GRES-1 with installation of new electric filters, 2023;
– Expansion and reconstruction of Ekibastuz GRES-2 with installation of power unit No.3, 2026;
– Expansion and reconstruction of Ekibastuz GRES-2 with installation of power unit No.4, 2027;
– Construction of Ekibastuz GRES-3, 2028-2029;
– Expansion and reconstruction of Ekibastuz GRES-2 with the installation of power units No.5 and No.6, 2029-2030;
– Reconstruction of cable networks in Almaty and Almaty region, 2030;
– Development of networks of the Shelek power plant in Almaty region, 2025;
– Construction of the counter-regulating Kerbulak HPP on the river Or in the Almaty region, 2026;
– Modernization of the Almaty CHP-2 with minimization of environmental impact, 2026;
– Reconstruction of the Almaty CHP-3 on the basis of a SGU with an increase in the capacity of the station to 544 MW, 2025;
– Expansion of the Almaty CHP-1 with the construction of a SGU with a capacity of 200-250 MW, 2026 year;
– Construction of the Substation "Kokozek" with connection to the ORU PS "Kaskelen", 2023.

In addition to technological, procedural and financial aspects, problematic issues and ways to solve them were discussed at the meeting. Following the meeting, the head of the Fund gave a number of instructions for execution as soon as possible.
