AlES: Successful social partnership

58 college students went on an excursion to the Almaty CHPP-1 named after B.Orazbayev

JSC "AlES" cooperates on an ongoing basis with Almaty colleges in energy specialties. As part of the social partnership, excursions were held at the B.Orazbayev CHP-1 for students of the Almaty State College of Energy and Electronic Technologies and the college at the Gumarbek Daukeev Almaty University of Energy and Electronic Technologies.

In May 2022, 4 excursions were conducted for college students of 1,2,3 courses in the specialty of a heat technician.

– I really wanted to visit the station. To see turbines and boilers with your own eyes, – said Matvey Moroz, a 4th-year college student at the Gumarbek Daukeev Almaty University of Energy and Electronic Technologies. – And I'm just delighted. I was most impressed by the boiler and turbine shops. I can say that I was inspired by this excursion to gain new knowledge.

Matvey's classmate Alikhan Sultanakhmet is studying on a grant in college.

– We were not very lucky, because we studied online because of covid. Therefore, it is very interesting for me to look at the power equipment of the station, Alikhan continued. – Everything was very interesting to me. Most of all, I was struck by the boiler, its size, the scale of production. I imagined that it was so big, but I did not expect to see such a size of it.

The deputy director of the College for educational Work, Andrey Kadrov, noted that it is one thing in drawings and textbooks. And to see something completely different with your own eyes. For students, this is a unique opportunity to visit the station, to see how it all works. The college management is grateful to "AlES" for the fact that the younger generation can receive high-quality education, combining theory and practice.

– I am glad that colleges have begun to pay great attention to the practical familiarization of students with production. This interaction in terms of conducting excursions and industrial practices with specialized colleges will reduce the gap between the needs of the employer and the competencies of graduate students, continued Zhanar Sabikenova, Head of the Personnel Training Department of JSC "AlES". – Our company has a great responsibility in this part of cooperation, given that we are the only large enterprise in the field of thermal energy generation.

JSC "AlES" actively participates in the preparation of improving the quality of young specialists in several areas: the practice of students at work, the internship of teachers, holding round tables, etc.

Social partnership with employers is the key to the successful development of colleges and the employment of graduates.
