I am ready to start working at the station...

38 students of the Almaty University of Energy and Communications visited AlES

At the beginning of March 2022, students of 2-4 courses of AUPET in the specialties "Heat power engineering", "Electric power engineering" and "Hydropower engineering" visited CHPP-1 named after B. Orazbaev, CHPP-2 named after A.Zhakutov and Kapshagai HPP named after Sh. Chokin. All of them are participants of the Job Trip program of the AUEC Career Center. The guys wrote a motivation letter on the topic "Why do I want to go on a tour of the station?"  

Station workers spoke to the students. Students had a tour of the main technological workshops, showed the students the power equipment of the stations, explained the mechanism for organizing the main technological processes to ensure uninterrupted heat supply to the city. Here, the future power engineers were interested in literally everything. Students were actively interested in the capabilities of the stations, the principles of equipment operation. 

– I visited the station for the first time and learned everything about its work from the workers themselves. I saw how the CHP works. Today I realized that I chose the right path, my profession. This is the profession I want to work in. I am ready to start working at the station – said 4th year student Aibek Zhaksybaev.  

Akniet Aliaskar, a 2nd year student, is very glad that she had a chance to visit the thermal power plant: "The trip caused a lot of emotions, it was very interesting and informative. I want to work as a power engineer. I liked the turbine shop the most. We studied everything theoretically, looked at diagrams, pictures. Today everything was different. I know that my specialty will always be in demand". 

– Excursions of students to the facilities of AlES are a long-term tradition. They allow you to see the CHP and HPP with your own eyes. This makes a great impression on students, they get a lot of interesting and really useful information. Training of power engineers becomes effective if it is supported by familiarity with real production. The information obtained helps young people to make an informed choice of a profession based on their own ideas about it, – said Zhanar Sabikenova, Head of the Personnel Training Department of AlES JSC.
