ALMATY CHPP-1 NAMED AFTER KAZAKHSTAN'S ENERGY VETERAN BYRLYK ORAZBAYEV

Almaty CHPP-1 is one of the production departments of Almaty Electric Power Stations JSC

The naming of the outstanding power engineer Byrlyk Orazbayev CHPP-1 was initiated by JSC "AlES" and approved by the management of JSC "Samruk-Energo".

The new legal name of the power plant is CHPP-1 named after B. Orazbayev.

Byrlyk Yessirkepovich Orazbayev was born on February 3, 1948. In 1971, he graduated from the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute with a degree in heat and power engineering. Byrlyk Yessirkepovich started his career as a simple machinist at the Almaty CHPP-1 and after passing all the stages of professional growth-senior machinist, engineer, deputy head of PTO, head of PTO, Deputy chief engineer, was appointed chief engineer of CHPP-1.

Many years Birlik Esirkepov has held leadership positions in national organizations: President of GEK "Kazakhstanenergo", Vice-President of JSC "KEGOC", Deputy General Director of JSC "EP-Energy", Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC "Samruk-Energo".
From 1997 to 2000, he was Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Trade, and in 2007-of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Then two years headed Birlik Esirkepov JSC "Almaty electric stations".

B. E. Orazbayev was engaged in scientific activity, in 2007 he defended his doctoral dissertation, was an academician of the Academy of Industrial Ecology of the Russian Federation, he is the author of more than 20 scientific articles and publications.

Holding high positions, B. E. Orazbayev always paid special attention to young people, their professional training. He solved social issues of employees, including providing housing, kindergartens, etc.

For their high professionalism and significant contribution to the development of the energy sector Orazbayev, B. E awarded diplomas of energy of Kazakhstan, JSC "Kazakhstan holding for management of state assets "Samruk" of the akimat of Almaty, commemorative medals were awarded titles of "Honored power engineer of the CIS", "Honored power engineer Of Kazakhstan".

-It is a great honor for us to assign the name of Byrlyk Orazbayev to CHPP-1. This is a person who gave his honest and noble work to the formation and development of the energy sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He was our mentor, Teacher, - said Nurlan Mukhamed-Rakhimov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "AlES".

In 2020, the Almaty CHPP-1 named after B. Orazbayev turned 85 years old. Since 2017, the station has been running on natural gas. At the beginning of 2021, the installed capacity of the power plant was: electric – 145 MW, thermal – 1203.0 Gcal/h.
