START FOR SAFE PRODUCTION

As part of the Digital Transformation Program, the start of the "Safe Production" project was announced at three subsidiaries of Samruk-Energy JSC: Almaty Electric Power Stations JSC, Ekibastuz GRES-1 LLP and Ekibastuz GRES-2 JSC.

In all portfolio companies of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, comprehensive security is in the first place and under the control of the first managers. Chairman of the Management Board Bakitzhan Zhulamanov is the sponsor of the project aimed at improving industrial safety and its automation at Samruk-Energo Holding.

The launch of the project was announced at a meeting of the project team with the first managers and structural divisions for labor protection of Ekibastuz GRES-1 LLP, Ekibastuz GRES-2 JSC and Almaty Electric Power Stations JSC. Through the "Safe Production" transformation project, the company is taking the first step towards automating occupational safety processes. Until today, the SDCs keep records of incidents and incidents manually. Given the widespread digitalization, it was decided to implement this project, while in the pilot format.
The project manager - Director of the Department "Safety and Labor Protection" - Tulegen Maksilov spoke about the essence of the project and further steps:"The project is aimed at automating processes related to safety at production facilities.
All business processes related to occupational safety and health will be implemented in a single information system. Registration of nonconformities will be carried out by all employees of the enterprise. At the moment, training has already been conducted at 2 SDCs: GRES-1 LLP and EGRES-2 JSC, followed by ALES JSC.
Now, if an employee of the enterprise finds an object of danger, he will fix it on the camera and place it on the IT platform. Further, OTiTB employees, together with other departments in the system, will be assigned the corrective actions, deadlines and resources necessary to eliminate this discrepancy. The system tracks the status of work, reminds you of approaching deadlines, and generates reports and statistics on industrial safety and labor protection.

Summing up the meeting, Edil Kopenov, Managing Director for Business Transformation of Samruk-Energy JSC, said: "We are announcing the launch of a pilot project in three SDCs. I would like to wish success to everyone, including the project team. We will have to work hard to inform and involve several thousand employees in the project. From the first managers, we expect not only support and control, but also increased personal interest and involvement on our part."
If the information platform "Safe Enterprise" is put into commercial operation at GRES-1, GRES-2, and JSC "AlES", the project will be replicated to other subsidiaries and affiliates of the group of JSC "Samruk-Energo". The pilot implementation period is June 2021.
