ELECTRICITY AND COAL PRODUCTION IN NORMAL MODE

All strategic energy-producing and coal-mining organizations of the largest Kazakhstan electric power holding "Samruk-Energo"are operating normally. During the state of emergency, employees of enterprises take measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.

As of March 18 of this year, since the beginning of the month, the volume of electricity generated by the holding companies amounted to 1,633,561 thousand kWh, which is 108% of the plan.  Since the beginning of the year, the stations have produced 7,651,506 thousand kWh with a plan of 7,704,667 thousand kWh, or 99 % of the plan. 

In order to prevent diseases of employees in JSC "Samruk-Energo" and electric power companies that are part of its structure, Operational Response Headquarters have been formed with the approval of Action Plans for the prevention of the spread of coronavirus infection.

Within the framework of these measures, a set of measures is being implemented at the stations, including the sanitary treatment of vehicles for the delivery of personnel, as well as the treatment of working and household premises, the cancellation of all sports and cultural events, enhanced medical examination of employees, the purchase of medical masks, thermal imagers, non-contact infrared thermometers, etc. Information about the prevention of coronavirus infection is posted on information boards in all workshops and divisions of enterprises.

Information about the operation of the stations: JSC "Samruk-Energy" fully fulfills its obligations to Kazakhstan consumers for the supply of electricity and thermal coal.

To date, Ekibastuz GRES-1 operates in a 6-block mode (one block is under routine maintenance). According to the results of the 1st quarter, it is projected to exceed the production plan by 15 % (with the plan of 5092.5 billion kWh, the fact will be about 5966 billion kWh). Export supplies of electricity from GRES-1 to Uzbekistan amounted to 434.5 million kWh since the beginning of the year.

Ekibastuz GRES-2 operates in a single-unit mode, but it is planned to put the second power unit into operation from the end of March.

Electricity generation by the power plants of JSC "AlES" (Almaty Power Complex) also exceeds the planned indicators (for March - by 4 %, since the beginning of the year – by 1 %).

Production of hydroelectric power plants of JSC "Samruk-Energo" - Moynak HPP and Shardarinskaya HPP, since the beginning of the year at the planned level. At the same time, all four new hydroelectric units were put into operation at the Shardarinskaya HPP, the installed capacity increased by 26% in March and amounted to 126 MW.

Energy-producing companies operating on renewable energy sources have good indicators. In March, WPP output exceeds the planned output by 65%, and SES-by 35 %.

In March, 2,398 thousand tons of coal were shipped from the coal mines of Bogatyr Komir LLP, with a plan of 2,144 thousand tons. The shipment of coal since the beginning of the year amounted to more than 10.3 million tons.
