Kapshagay hpp limonary: a rich harvest

By the New Year, workers at the Kapshagai Hydroelectric Power Station collected a good harvest of lemons. The limonary of the Kapshagai hydroelectric station is located in the transition from the administrative building to the machine room.

- To be in the lemon garden is exotic. We go through our lemonarium, enjoy the citrus aroma and recharge with energy in the middle of winter. Real lemons are very fragrant, said Ainur Koshkinbaeva, an electrician for testing and measuring.

The limonary of the Kapshagai HPP was created on the initiative of the Managing Director of the Kapshagai HPP Viktor Andreevich Ivanov in 1996. Initially, they tried to grow different types of lemons and fruit trees, but only one variety of lemons took root. Since then, for more than 20 years, the employees of the Kapshagai hydroelectric station have been provided with their own citrus fruits.

-The air is saturated with aroma, the charm of the tropical flora sets us up for positive emotions. This affects the mood, performance, communication with others. We are grateful to Galina Egorovna Kozhushko, a cleaner of industrial premises, who has been caring for lemons with great love for many years, ”said Gulzhan Bakhtybaeva, farm manager.

The exact date of the appearance of the first lemon at the Kapshagai hydroelectric station is unknown. Currently, 9 trees annually bear fruit and delight the station employees with their aromatic fruits, improve well-being and mood.
