ALES: A ROUND TABLE HELD IN THE ALMATY STATE COLLEGE OF ENERGY AND ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGIES

On September 10, 2019, a Round Table was held at the Municipal Government Enterprise«Almaty State College of Energy and Electronic Technologies», according to the action plan to promote equal opportunities of «AlES» JSC and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Aliya Ilyasova, a senior national expert on gender issues, shared her experiences with international best practices, shared examples of strategies and political programs to support gender equality and empower women on the path to sustainable development in Kazakhstan. The round table was attended by 40 college teachers, many questions were asked, and a discussion was held on the development of gender equality in Kaakhstan.

- Municipal Government Enterprise«Almaty State College of Energy and Electronic Technologies», supports the initiative to promote equal opportunities for both men and women. Very often in foreign trips I see examples of commitment to equal opportunities. I advise my young teachers when working with students to adhere to the principle of equal opportunities, - said AbildinovKuatbek, deputy director for educational production.

Reminding that the project to promote equal opportunities has been implemented since June 2018 and will end in September 2019. This project confirms the commitment of the EBRD and «Samruk-Energy» JSC to the principles of gender equality, as a key element of sustainable development, as well as the belief that companies providing women and men with equal opportunities are more successful and achieve better results.
