PROMOTING THE PRINCIPLE OF EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES BY CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

On June 24, 2019, the management ofJSC “AlES” held a meeting with consultants from Ergon and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (hereinafter referred to as the EBRD) to discuss the work done on the equal opportunities promotion project.`

- We have been working on this project since June 2018. It has been done much: a program of school ambassadors has been launched, a round table has been held at the Almaty University of Energy and Communications, a number of events are planned in the summer to promote equal opportunities and attract women to the energy sector at the Almaty State College of Energy and Electronic Technologies and the “Edelweiss” Children's Health Camp, - said NurlanMukhamed-Rakhimov, Chairman of the Board of “AlES” JSC.

During the meeting, AlES corporate communications projects were reviewed, including “AlES in persons”, “AlES News”, the company's website, which show commitment to the principle of equal opportunities. AlES has historically been the leader in the number of women power engineers, together with EBRD consultants it emphasizes providing equal opportunities in AlES and increasing women's awareness of career growth. Currently, activities are ongoing to attract women to the energy sector. In the future, it is planned to increase the representation of women in leadership.


As the project manager Ergon, KirstenNewit noted, JSC “AlES” is in step with the best practices in the field of corporate communications, taking into account gender factors in the energy sector. Most importantly, there is a strong commitment to equal opportunities at the management level.
