On holding hearings on the activities of JSC "AlES"

for the provision of regulated services for 2018

On April 16, 2019, in accordance with clause 6 of Article 25 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Natural Monopolies”, TPP-1 passed hearings on the annual report on the provision of regulated services.

Representatives of authorized and state bodies, consumers, public associations, mass media, independent experts, etc. took part in public hearings.

- JSC "Almaty Electric Power Plants" is a subject of natural monopoly and is included in the Republican section of the State Register of Natural Monopoly Subjects on the production of thermal energy and on water supply through main pipelines (preparation of chemically purified water), - said NurlanMukhamed-Rakhimov, Chairman of the Board JSC "AlES". - According to the results of 2018, the actual volume of services rendered from activities for the production of heat energy amounted to 5,527 thousand Gcal, which is 183 thousand Gcal or 3% more than the volume stipulated in the approved tariff estimate. Revenue from the sale of thermal energy amounted to 21,647.1 million tenge, expenses 21,777.5 million tenge. Loss from heat production activities (-130.4) million tenge. The depreciation deductions from the assets involved in the provision of regulated services were directed to the implementation of the investment program in the amount of 1,069.8 milliontenge and to repay the principal debt of the investment loan “Reconstruction and expansion of Almaty TPP-2. Stage III. Boiler unit №8 ”in the amount of 1 431.7 million tenge.

According to the results of 2018, the actual volume of services rendered from water supply through the main pipelines amounted to 30.8 million m3, which is 2.2 million m3 or 8% higher than the volume stipulated in the approved tariff estimate. Revenues from the sale of chemically treated water amounted to 1 824.0 million tenge, expenses 1 740.6 million tenge, profit 83.4 million tenge. In accordance with the current legislation, the profit and depreciation charges are directed to the implementation of the Investment Program. The measures stipulated by the approved Investment Program for 2018 from the activities of water supply through the main pipelines were made in full volume of own funds in the amount of 33.0 million tenge.

The presentation also highlighted issues of compliance with quality and reliability indicators for regulated services, reviewed the main financial and economic indicators of the company’s activities in 2018, analyzed the volumes of provided regulated services for the reporting period, and identified the prospects for the company.
