PROMOTION OF EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

On March 1, 2019, «Almaty Power Plants» JSC was visited by consultants of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the implementation of a project to promote equal opportunities at «Samruk-Energy» JSC. The project has been implemented since June 2018 and will be completed in September 2019.

 The main objectives of the project are to support «Samruk-Energy» JSC in strengthening approaches to promoting equal opportunities, providing best international practices in the energy sector; providing a demonstration effect for other companies in Kazakhstan.

This project confirms the commitment of the EBRD and «Samruk-Energy» JSC to the principles of gender equality as a key element of sustainable development, as well as the belief that companies that provide equal opportunities for women and men are more successful and achieve better results.

-« Almaty Power Plants» JSC has real opportunities to be a leader in the field of equal opportunities in the energy sector of Kazakhstan, especially in the system of information coverage of educational schools, universities and the system of technical and professional colleges. At the management level of the company there is a commitment to equal opportunity. Interviews with staff showed that employees are proud of their work at « AlES» JSC, -said Assel Arginbaeva, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Economics and Finance.
