The Environmental impact assessment (EIA) of a projected boiler on the Almaty CHPP-2 has been presented in “Almaty Power Stations” joint-stock company.

Representatives of department of ecology in Almaty, SES authorities, representatives of “AlES” JSC, NGO, media and residents took part in public hearings.

Specialists of the republican research and production center “Kazecology” developed the EIA project.

According to the Chairman of the management board of “AlES” JSC Nurlan Mohamed-Rahimov, the boiler unit will conform to ecological requirements of RK. Implementation of the project will allow making additional heat and electric power for satisfaction of needs of residents of Almaty and objects of the Universiade 2017, which are erected again in a zone of CHPP-2.

With the commissioning of the eighth boiler on CHPP-2, “AlES” JSC will increase the amount of electricity production by 500 million kilowatt-hours per year that will raise electricity generation by 7-8 percent and will provide a stable supply of heat and the electricity for our residents.
