The history of the creation of JSC "Almaty electric stations"

Joint-stock company " Almaty Electric Stations "(JSC "AlES") was established on the basis of the decision of JSC "KazTransGas" No. 92 dated 23.05.2006 and was registered on 01.06.2006. The state registration number of the legal entity is 78188-1910-JSC. Currently, the company is part of the group of companies of JSC "Samruk-Energo".
JSC "AlES" is an energy-producing organization that carries out activities for the production of heat and electricity in the city of Almaty and the Almaty region. To date, the generated heat and electricity covers about 70% of the needs of the city of Almaty and the Almaty region.
JSC "AlES" is included in the Republican section of the State Register of Subjects of Natural Monopolies (it is a subject of a natural monopoly for the production of thermal energy).

The structure of JSC "AlES" includes the following production departments: CHPP-1 named after B. Orazbayev, CHPP-2 named after A. Zhakutov, CHPP-3; Kapshagayskaya HPP named after Sh.Chokin; Cascade of Almaty hydroelectric power plants, Western Thermal Complex( ZTC), Fuel Loading and Unloading Center( CPVT), Production Repair Enterprise "Energoremont" (PRP).

The design and construction of the Alma-Ata TPP (now - CHPP-1 named after B. Orazbayev) began in 1931. The first unit was put under industrial load on October 25, 1935. The composition of the CHP-1 includes the following main equipment:

  • six power boilers BKZ-160-100;
  • seven PTVM-100 hot water boilers;
  • two steam turbines PT-60-90/13;
  • one steam turbine R-25-90/18.

The equipment was put into operation from 1960 to 1996.

The construction of the Almaty CHPP-2 named after A. Zhakutov was started in 1974. In 1980-1983, three steam boilers of the BKZ type were put into operation-420-140-7C and three steam turbines of the PT-80/100-130/13 type. 2 the construction phase was carried out in 1985-1989. The composition of the CHP-2 includes the following main equipment:

  • seven BKZ power boilers-420-140-7c;
  • three steam turbines PT-80-130/13;
  • two steam turbines T-110-130;
  • one steam turbine R-50-130/13.

The equipment was put into operation from 1980 to 1989.

The project for the construction of the first stage of the Alma-Ata GRES (now CHPP-3) with a capacity of 100 thousand kW was approved by the decision of the Alma-Ata State Economic Council on December 9, 1959. The year of the beginning of construction is 1957. The composition of the CHP-3 includes the following main equipment:

  • six power boilers BKZ-160-100;
  • three T-41-90 steam turbines;
  • one K-50-90 steam turbine.

The equipment was put into operation from 1960 to 1967.

The beginning of the Western Thermal Complex (ZTC) was laid on November 26, 1963. In the same year, two hot-water boilers were installed and put into operation, in 1964-67, another hot-water boiler and five steam boilers were put into operation. At the moment, the ZTC includes the following main equipment:

  • three BO-25/15 steam boilers; • two GM-50/14 steam boilers;
  • two PTVM-50 hot water boilers;
  • six PTVM-100 hot water boilers;
  • four KVGM-100 hot water boilers.

The equipment was put into operation from 1963 to 1988.

Design of the Kapshagayskaya HPP named after Sh.Chokin was carried out by the Kazakh branch of the All-Union Design and Survey Institute "Gidroproekt" named after S. Ya. The beetle in 1959 with the completion of the project in 1961-1964. In 1965, by order of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR No. 266-R of 25.02.65, the directorate of the Kapshagai hydroelectric power station named after Sh. was established.Chokin and its construction has begun. In 1980, the construction of the Kapshagai HPP was completed and the state commission signed an acceptance certificate for the completed construction of the Kapshagai HPP named after Sh.Chokina. At the moment, it is part of the Kapshagai hydroelectric power station named after Sh.The chokin includes the following basic equipment:

  • four hydraulic units PL2-50/642-V-650.

The equipment was put into operation from 1970 to 1971.

The construction of a cascade of hydroelectric power stations on the Bolshaya Almatinka River was provided for by the GOELRO plan back in 1920. The design and preparatory work was started by the Leningrad branch of the Institute "Gidroproekt" in 1942, and since April 1943, the construction of the first power plants began directly. At the moment, the Cascade HPP includes the following main equipment:

  • three hydraulic units f.Ansaldo (Italy) installed at HPP-1;
  • three KVG179x16 hydroelectric units, 4-1 installed at HPP-2;
  • one hydroelectric unit RO638-VM-100 installed at HPP-5;
  • three hydraulic units of F. Laffel (USA) installed at the HPP-6, 7, 8;
  • one ROF700 hydroelectric unit installed at the HPP-9, 10, 11;
  • three RO-15-GM-84 hydroelectric units installed at the Talgar HPP.

The equipment was put into operation from 1943 to 1963.

The Fuel Loading and Unloading Center (CPVT) was established in 1998. CPVT has three sites located on the territories of the departments of AlES CHPP-1, CHPP-2, CHPP-3. CPVT provides reception, unloading and supply of fuel and other cargo, as well as repair and maintenance of railway tracks of the departments of CHPP-1, CHPP-2, CHPP-3.

The production repair enterprise "Energoremont" (PRP) was established in May 1980. The main production units are based on the territory of CHPP-1, CHPP-2, CHPP-3, ZTK. Provides repair maintenance of the main and auxiliary equipment of all thermal energy sources of JSC "AlES". The PRP "Energoremont" includes a production base, which is located on the industrial site of CHPP-2, as well as repair shops and sites located on the territories of the departments of CHPP-1, CHPP-2, CHPP-3, ZTK.
